Amsterdam, 27 February 2019 — AMG Advanced Metallurgical Group N.V. („AMG“, EURONEXT AMSTERDAM: „AMG“) is pleased to announce that Dr. Stefan Scherer has joined AMG as the Chief Commercial Officer („CCO“) of AMG Mineração BV. Dr. Scherer has over 20 years of experience in the specialty, fine chemical and lithium industries in various operational and management positions.
The Management Board of AMG Mineração BV will be comprised of Fabiano Costa as CEO, who will continue his current role as the CEO of our Brazilian operations, Dr. Scherer as CCO, and Michael Connor as CFO, who will continue his current role as AMG’s Corporate Controller.
As CCO of AMG Mineração, Dr. Scherer will also oversee our newly established laboratory in Höchst, Germany. Dr. Scherer will be supported by Dr. Martin Janssen, Dr. Vera Nickel, and Dr. Hannes Vitze, all three of whom have vast experience in research and development of lithium-based materials. This research team and laboratory will support our lithium operations in Brazil as well as our downstream lithium chemical strategy.
