AMG UPDATES PROGRESS ON AMG ALUMINUM

Amsterdam, 3 April 2012 (Regulated Information) AMG Advanced Metallurgical Group N.V. (“AMG”, EURONEXT AMSTERDAM: “AMG”) is beginning the next phase in the coordination of AMG Aluminum’s six production sites in Europe, Asia, South America and North America and the integration of its global customer service activities.  This ongoing coordination is essential to improve operational efficiencies and to provide seamless customer service to the global aluminum industry.  AMG Aluminum is the world’s largest provider of aluminum master alloys and grain refiners.

AMG has appointed Mr. Julien Crisnaire as President of AMG Aluminum to lead this initiative.  Mr. Crisnaire will succeed Mr. Rick Malliris, who is retiring on June 30, 2012.

Mr. Crisnaire has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a MBA, both from the University of Delaware and has served in the Corporate Development department of AMG and as Operations Director of AMG Conversion Ltd.  He was instrumental in the acquisition of KB Alloys, LLC, an integral part of AMG Aluminum.  Mr. Crisnaire will focus initially on improving operational performance globally and customer service at AMG Aluminum.

Dr. Heinz Schimmelbusch, AMG’s Chairman of the Management Board and CEO, said “We all want to thank Rick Malliris for his contributions to AMG Aluminum and wish him the best in retirement.  Rick and his 47 years of service to the global aluminum industry were essential in the formation and growth of AMG Aluminum.”
